1920 London Review

1920 London is the third supernatural drama produced by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. This movie is about chasing an “atman” that resides in a locket. Cast of the movie is Sharman Joshi, Meera Chopra and Vishal Karwal.

It is a story of life of a happily married young couple in London and it changes horrifyingly after the arrival of a surprise gift from India.

A spirit seeps out and holds the husband. Shivangi (Meera Chopra) returns to India to seek help as she sees her husband Veer Singh’s (Vishal Karwal) health decline dramatically.

Fearing that a dangerous spirit has hold him, she approaches an exorcist. He turns out to be none other than her former lover, Jai (Sharman Joshi). In spite of having been neglected and suffer jail because of Shivangi’s disloyalty, Jai try to save Veer.

But, when Jai tries to bind the spirits, he becomes unsuccessful. This turns out to be a great shock for Shivangi .Is Jay able to bind the spirit and set Veer free and was there a reason behind his failure in his war against the spirits… is what forms the rest of the story.

The film’s debutant director Tinu Suresh Desai does a superlatively decent job with 1920 LONDON. While the film does suffer from its ‘lagging moments’ in the first half and more towards the second half, the interval scene surely shocks the viewers.

As for the performances, Sharman Joshi does a good job and justifies his character. Meera performs the role of a helpless woman stuck between her husband and her ex-lover with brilliance. Even though Vishal Karwar does not have much to do in the film, he does a decent job in whatever screen time he gets.

While the film’s music is good and cinematography is very good.

On the whole, 1920 LONDON is an interesting movie with the right amount of unnatural and scary moments. Film has potential to attract all the section of peoples towards box-office.
