Mumbai : Mithibai Ex-Students Association (MESA) will hold the 7th ex students meet on Saturday, Dec 09 at Club Millenium, Juhu. With more than a million ex-students spread across the world, Mumbai based Mithibai is one of the largest colleges of Asia in terms of number of students, and alma mater to multitude of Bollywood personalities.
“This re-union will feature the felicitation of Sajid-Wajid, Bollywood’s leading music director duo; Vikram Bhatt, director of cult films like Ghulam and Raaz; Paritosh Painter, stage artist, director and playwright; and, Afroz Shah, winner of United Nations’ Champion of the Earth Award in 2016,” says Krishna Hegde, Convenor, MESA.
The previous edition of Mithibai Ex-students had seen a turnout of over five hundred alumni. “Our reunions are one of the largest and grandest in India. For us, reunions are not just about get togethers, but also celebrating the success of our college mates and being socially responsible. Since MESA was founded about 19 years back, besides getting the students together at regular intervals, it has arranged various blood donation drives, health camps, fund raising for Kargill jawans, supporting the education of underprivileged and other activities,” says Balakrishna Pillai. “The seventh edition of Mithibai Ex Students Night is also expected to see a heavy attendance. Our college has been a breeding ground for excellence in a large number of fields.”
“It is not uncommon to spot a film star, industrialist or a sportsperson at college re-unions, but at Mithibai College Ex-Students Night celebrities outnumber the average alumns. Well, that is bit of an exaggeration 😉 but it is fair to say that Mithibai re-unions attract a good crowd. Ex-students like Ajay Devgan, Raveena Tandon, Vivek Oberoi, Praveen Amre and others have turned up on an ongoing basis in the previous editions of Mithibai re-unions,” adds Khalid Khan, President, MESA.
“It has been a tradition to felicitate outstanding ex-students for their achievements at our re-unions. We are very excited with the names selected for this year’s MESA Hall of Fame 2017,” concludes Krishna Hegde.
