Actor Tusshar Kapoor, who is single, on Monday announced the arrival of his son, born last week through IVF and surrogacy. The baby has been named Laksshya.
“I am thrilled to be a father! The paternal instincts in me have been overpowering my heart and mind for some time now. Therefore, I am thrilled beyond words to have Laksshya, now the greatest source of joy in my life,” Tusshar, son of Bollywood veteran Jeetendra, said in a statement.
“By the greatness of god and the excellent medical team at Jaslok (hospital), parenthood is an option for many, who choose to be single parents,” added the actor, who has been a part of Bollywood comedies “Kyaa Kool Hain Hum” and “Golmaal” franchise.
Proud grandparents, Shobha and Jeetendra, are very happy.
“As a public figure, Tusshar’s brave and bold decision will open the field of assisted reproduction making it accessible to not just single parents, but couples as well.”
Earlier, superstar Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao had son Azad Rao Khan through surrogacy and even Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s third child AbRam was born via surrogacy. (IANS/THE WEEK)
